What the Extension Does

Email Day Summary reads your Gmail inbox and summarizes your daily emails using AI. It can also detect calendar-worthy events and add them to your Google Calendar.

Data We Access

The extension requests access to:

• Gmail (read-only) — to read email subjects, senders, and previews for summarization
• Google Calendar (events) — to create calendar events detected in your emails

How Your Data Is Processed

• Email data is sent directly from your browser to the OpenAI API using your own API key for summarization.
• We do not collect, store, or transmit your email data to any server we operate.
• Your OpenAI API key is stored locally in your browser's Chrome storage and is never sent to us.
• All processing happens client-side (in your browser) and between your browser and the OpenAI API.
• Summaries are stored locally in your browser's Chrome storage.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your emails, email content, or metadata
• We do not collect your Google account information
• We do not collect your OpenAI API key
• We do not use analytics or tracking within the extension
• We do not sell or share any data with third parties

Third-Party Services

The extension communicates with:

• Google APIs (Gmail, Calendar) — governed by Google's Privacy Policy
• OpenAI API — governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy. Your email data is sent to OpenAI for summarization using your own API key. Review OpenAI's data usage policies for details on how they handle API inputs.

Permissions Explained

• identity — to authenticate with your Google account
• storage — to save your settings and summaries locally
• alarms — to schedule automatic daily summaries
• notifications — to notify you when a summary is ready

Website (ragan.tech)

Our website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This collects standard internet log information and visitor behavior patterns. We do not collect personally identifiable information through the website beyond what you voluntarily provide via our contact form.

Your Choices

• You can revoke the extension's access to your Google account at any time via Google Account Permissions
• You can uninstall the extension at any time to remove all locally stored data
• You can clear extension data via Chrome's settings
